LEAK-FREE CONNECTION
January 1st 2005

A guaranteed leak-free hydraulic connection has been developed by Legris for DIN 2353 couplings.

Launch of the three-bite DiNova cutting ring follows a major expansion by the company into hydraulic components.

Features of the system include metal-to-metal sealing, further sealing through PTFE seals, additional protection of the back seal during installation and a mechanical stop to confirm that the crimp has been properly achieved.

The DiNova cutting ring has three gripping bites, with metal-tometal sealing within a 24° cone and additional sealing through two PTFE seals. The softness of the PTFE material allows it to absorb any movement of the hydraulic connection while in use.

Further advantages claimed for the PTFE seal are that it allows repeated assemblies with no loss of performance and can be used with virtually all aggressive fluids in temperatures from -40 to 200°C.

The design of the ring is said to guarantee protection of the back seal during assembly, preventing pollution both within the sealing areas and of hydraulic circuits.

The rings are interchangeable with traditional cutting rings.
