Endress+Hauser’s new Soliphant M level limit switch for fine-grained or powdery solids is said to offer outstanding performance, even in hazardous areas (ATEX and SIL 2 certified).

Available as a compact, extension tube or cable version, it gives reliable level measurement from 145mm to 20m in applications ranging from cement and dye powders to powdered milk.

Operating using the vibrating fork principle, with no mechanically moving parts, it is virtually maintenance-free and insensitive to external vibrations.

An integrated selfchecking function lets the user monitor the entire system without having to climb to the top of a silo, minimising the potential for accidents.

The switch can also be used to detect solids levels underwater.
