MIXES AND DISPENSES
March 1st 2004

A new barrel mixing and dispensing system from Tapflo UK is proving a great success after being installed at a number of major paint and ink mixing plants. The mixing technique provided by Pneumix is said to overcome the drawbacks associated with conventional mixing systems and was designed for applications where raw materials contained in drums or containers settle out over time and need to be mixed or blended prior to use. The system consists of a mixer pipe that fits securely into the fill-hole of the container and a Tapflo air-operated, double diaphragm pump forces the liquid through the mixer pipe at the required rate, to provide optimum agitation for the specific product. After the mixing process, the pump can be used as a dispenser only or mix and dispense simultaneously by the switching of a valve. It is suitable for hazardous, sensitive or volatile products, such as paint and ink, because enclosed product handling means no spillage.
