NEW PROFIBUS CONNECTOR
September 1st 2004

Lapp has introduced a Profibus DP module for its Epic MC series of rectangular connectors.

The device provides a compact connector for Profibus DP cables, including Lapp’s Unitronic Bus DP/FMS/FIP cable, designed for transmission of sensitive data in a range of industrial environments.

The new module is believed to be the first of its kind in rectangular connectors and provides full compliance with the internationally recognised Profibus fieldbus protocol. It has a data transmission rate of 1.5Mbit/s and delivers excellent shielding to ensure undisturbed data transmission plus high protection class IP65.

The module is designed for use in standard frames within Lapp’s modular system. It offers a cost effective, space-saving solution, allowing up to seven modules to be combined in one housing, such as Profibus, signal, power and coax.
