Sanitary pumps
November 1st 2003 The SolidC range of sanitary pumps from Alfa Laval has been developed for standard duties in the food, dairy, beverage, pharmaceutical, light chemical and water industries and will handle maximum inlet pressure to 4bar, flow rates to 90m3/h and a head to 8bar.
The company claims that SolidC provides better value for money than any comparable pump on the market. Four sizes are offered; all are designed with safety, hygiene and reliability in mind.
They incorporate a balanced shaft seal that is the same as that fitted to the companys premium LKH series pumps. The driven section of the seal is outside the product zone so maximum hygiene is guaranteed. Seal and O ring can be replaced, without removing the backplate, in minutes.
Since SolidC shares the
same seal arrangement as LKH sanitary pumps, just a single stock of seals need be held for both types.
For most applications, the standard seal is suitable. However, a special kit makes it a quick and easy matter to convert to a flushed version to handle sticky or abrasive products.
The pump housing can be rotated through 360, enabling the unit to be positioned accurately for maximum performance, and every pump is supplied with an impeller adjustment tool. More articles from Alfa Laval Limited: |
