SMALL PUMP; BIG PERFORMANCE
January 1st 2005

A better performance from an even smaller pump is the claim made for the latest addition to the range of Micropump Gear Pump options available from Michael Smith Engineers.

The I-Drive pump package is said to be ideally suited to liquids transfer and dispensing duties in R&D applications, laboratory and OEM applications.

The challenge for Micropump was to develop a pump unit, up to 20% smaller without sacrificing power or capacity. Use of overmoulded NdFeB magnets, the latest surface mount technology and an enhanced heat-sink is said by the company to result in a smaller, more reliable and better performing pump and drive assembly.

The I-Drive combines pumphead, brushless DC motor and electronic controller in a single, compact unit that gives smooth, pulseless flow.
