The latest 5 and 10kV insulation resistance testers from Megger can be used for tasks ranging from routine testing of equipment during manufacture to fault finding in medium voltage distribution systems.

The MIT range combines ease of use with rugged construction and portability. Three models are offered: the MIT510 and MIT520 operate at 5kV and offer insulation resistance measurement to 15T ; and the MIT1020 that operates at 10kV and measures to 35T .

An entry-level unit, the MIT510 gives straightforward automated insulation resistance testing and produces rapid results in routine test situations. Mains or battery powered, a single push-button initiates the test sequence and a large digital/analogue LCD shows voltage, leakage, capacitance and time constant. MIT520 and 1020 have the same features plus automatic polarisation index, dielectric absorption ratio, step voltage & dielectric discharge tests.
