Helps with implementing maintenance strategy

Designed to simplify the development of a maintenance strategy and make it easy to implement, EPM Solution's AssetMatrix will be on show at Maintec 2006.

The system has been developed in conjunction with clients in the oil, drinks and aerospace industries. In EPM's experience, companies often purchase a CMMS software solution without a clear strategy in place. Before even considering a CMMS package, EPM uses the AssetMatrix as the starting point for gathering all relevant information about a company's assets.

Once the Matrix has been populated, the strategy becomes clear, as does the choice of software. Upon installation of the software, the AssetMatrix combines with that software to support the asset management strategy and its proper implementation.

However, EPM believes this only tackles part of the asset management challenge. Good asset management, it says, requires dedicated resources to ensure the details is well taken care of. For instance, who is going to be responsible for site surveys, creation of asset registers, database population and asset tagging?
