Keeping up with demand July 1st 2006 World cup activities, combined with some bouts of exceptionally good weather have sent the demand and consumption rocketing for beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks. Specialised beers and lifestyle drinks rely on product labelling as part of the marketing package, and labelling machine specialist Kosme has helped producers meet the increased demands.
Kosme has installed several high-speed labellers at UK breweries including: Robinsons Brewery, Stockport; Shepherd Neame, Faversham; and Marstons, Burton on Trent.
All machines have high throughput capacity (minimum 30 000 bph), and all provide optical orientation, where labels can be aligned with moulded features on the container bottles. The Kosme Top Adhesive machine has been supplied to Marstons, which is believed to be the highest speed self-adhesive labeller (at 44 000 bph) currently installed in the UK. This is a tandem machine with six labelling stations, three of which are held in reserve. The three on-line stations are used for container neck, body or back labelling, with automatic changover to standby station in the event of a label reel running out. More articles from Kosme UK Ltd: |
