ESSENTIAL UPGRADE
March 1st 2005

Busch (UK) has upgraded Huckepack 429 equipment at Lionel Hitchen (Essential Oils) to comply with the latest ATEX standards.

The Huckepack is part of a powerful range of fresh oil lubricated rotary vane vacuum pumps, with twostage compression. It was installed at Lionel Hitchen to provide vacuum inside a process vessel so that vacuum distillation could be carried out to fractionate a product.

Busch’s vacuum pumps are used in chemical and pharmaceutical manufacture as well as in industrial applications where there is the possibility of explosion. Any vacuum pump that moves explosive substances or that will be used in an environment that carries a risk of explosion now has to comply with ATEX legislation.
