On-the-spot oil testing

Speed, accuracy and convenience are the main advantages claimed for the on-the-spot sampling and testing of thermal oils offered by Heat Transfer Systems in its mobile laboratory.

John Franklin, MD, explains “Our customers appreciate the fact that we can now test on site while their systems are operating, can pinpoint potentially dangerous problems and can offer practical solutions there and then. “It saves them both time and money because they don’t have to take samples, send them off and wait for the results. Production continues as normal, our tests are accurate to ASTM standards and solutions can be offered and implemented quickly to maintain safety standards.” The mobile laboratory carries out fluid testing for viscosity, open and closed flash point, fire point, carbon level, total acid number and water content. Other features include system surveys to meet DSEAR requirements, safety surveys and training.
