Stability in film casting January 1st 2005 Following a £3m investment in cast and blown stretch film technology, Eurofilms Extrusion in Telford looked to static control solutions from Arrowquint to enhance its film casting process, particularly control of the film as it is applied to the casting roller.
This is the first stage of the film manufacturing process and the need to control the film is of utmost importance.
By inducing a static charge of the two edges of the film, the stability of the film is enhanced which, in turn, offers greater product consistency and a reduction in film shrinkage, known as film necking.
Arrowquint used an Eltex KNH18 static inducement generator and R23ATR pinpoint charging electrodes to provide the company with product consistency on a 24/7 basis. More articles from Arrowquint Ltd: |
