Weighs the whey

Valerio’s Olympia Group Foods is a leading supplier of cheese to the catering industry. One particular area of its business calls for accurate filling of ricotta cheese into plastic tubs.

The cheese is hot-filled, creating a steamy environment that is not typically suitable for accurate weighing equipment. Previous scales were prone to regular breakdown resulting in expensive repair bills.

Looking for a scale that could offer reliable and accurate weighing and cope with the humid environment, the company trialled a SEB food scale from Sartorius.

The device operated at full performance even in Valerio’s tough production area. It offers faster reaction times that helps to increase production, and its accuracy allows the company to reduce giveaway.

The SEB scale is built of stainless steel and conforms with IP66 and IP68 as well as HACCP guidelines.

The company has been so impressed by the scale that it has installed a second unit and says that they have paid for themselves in saved repair costs alone.
