ALARMED FOR SAFETY September 1st 2005 The Meech Model 986 Feedback system includes a safety alarm that, the company says, is not seen on other systems.
Static is recognised as a source of hazard as it can ignite flammable materials. In applications such as thermoforming, where the process uses a hazardous carrier, the new Feedback system provides a remote alarm function to warn of increasing static charge levels and the associated risk of fire.
Both visual and audio alarms can be activated at remote locations, alerting personnel to provide immediate attention.
A data logging facility is incorporated into the system to monitor performance and provide historical data.
The 986 DC system automatically optimises static charge removal by sensing the residual charge on the target material and reacting to it.
This means the static control system can operate at optimum performance under a range of conditions without the need for operator intervention. More articles from Meech International Ltd: |
