Quiet worker
July 1st 2004

Siemens Automation and Drives has developed a new converter for high performance pumps, fans and turbocompressors.

The Sinamics G150 is said

to be the quietest, most compact converter world-wide

in a standard control cabinet. It supplements Simovent Masterdrives control cabinet units.

Compared to a fixed-speed drive, the converter is said to save up to 50% energy and requires up to 70% less space than conventional devices. At full power, noise level is typically 72 decibels, making soundproofing measures unnecessary.

The device features simple handling, particularly during system planning, product procurement, installation and commissioning.

It controls the speed of low-voltage asynchronous motors with powers between 75 and 560kw.
