Blow away moisture issues May 1st 2011 According to ACI, in the past
the removal of residual
moisture film from watercooled
insulated wire/cable
and extruded products has
been difficult to achieve
effectively and consistently.
Now, however, ACI's new
'LINE-Dry' System claims to
solve this problem, while also
saving energy and reducing
running costs.
It is reported that, in
comparison with compressed
air systems, up to 10x energy
savings can be achieved. Free
on-site trials to potential
customers in the UK can be
arranged to quantify the
possible savings.
ACI's blower powered
LINE-Dry system can handle
products up to 25mm in
diameter at speeds of
500m/min. The blower is an
ACI variable speed 'Multi-
Stage' unit controlled via a
speed controller, which gives
flexibility to accommodate
different products and line
speeds. Two versions are
available, one with the dryer
heads enclosed to contain
displaced moisture, the other
is an open unit.
The enclosed unit has a
pair of facing air delivery
plenums. These can be
adjusted to suit different
product diameters and are
also sprung to allow flexing to
accommodate any product
distortions/kinks. The second
option comprises two pairs of
facing drying heads. More articles from Air Control Industries Ltd: |
