Colour-coded service levels
May 1st 2007 A colour-coded approach to the
servicing of all brands of Plate Heat
Exchanger has been introduced by
Alfa Laval. It enables users to
choose the level of service which
best matches their needs, budget
and process requirements.
The no-frills Blue option is a fast
cleaning service that can be used
when plates and gaskets are
undamaged. The company
recommends it between major
services/reconditioning to boost
PHE performance.
The Yellow package is for PHEs
operating in less rigorous
environments and not subject to
extremes of temperature or
pressure. It includes thorough
cleaning and inspection, gasket
replacement and is covered by a
warranty.
The Red package is a full-service
option designed for PHEs working
with aggressive chemicals or with a
high risk of fouling. In addition to
routine inspection and cleaning, it
includes dye penetrant crack
detection, thorough inspection of
gaskets, gasket replacement and
