Crushing solution to PVC build up in slurry lines

ATR Muncher has been installed by Mono at INEOS Vinyl's manufacturing plant in Penarth, South Glamorgan.

Installed in a PVC slurry filtrate system, it crushes PVC 'build up' that occurs during the manufacture of PVC and which had caused blockages in slurry lines and wear to macerating equipment.

Installed initially on a six month trial, it has now completed more than 18months of continuous operation and suffered none of the wear problems that affected its predecessors.

The TR Muncher is designed for the efficient maceration of abrasive products. The lay back cutter shafts are set at an angle to the incoming flow which makes the maceration effective and ensures the capture of irregularly shaped objects.

A particular benefit in this application is the Mono Muncher's lower operating speed, higher torque and the slower velocity of the abrasive product through the cutting chambers.
