Decanter updated
July 1st 2008

A new energy efficient decanter design from Westfalia Separator produces high performance dewatering with high throughput capacities. The machine, part of a new generation of decanters, has been designed for industrial and municipal environmental protection applications.

The UCF 466 pedestal-mounted design allows for the main motor to be mounted above the axis of the bowl and for the secondary motor to be installed in-line, giving improved torque performance and operational efficiency. The bowl can be disassembled and V belts replaced without the need for motors to be removed, saving time and costs during maintenance work.

The special rotor geometry plus high rotor speed guarantees a high throughput capacity of more than 35m3/h. The company says that compared to previous models at this scale, the g-volume, which is proportionate in throughput, has been increased by around 70%.

The environmental decanter can be mounted directly on two concrete foundation strips from which it is isolated dynamically by shock absorbers on the underside of the frame.
