Diffusion-bonded heat exchanger
September 1st 2007 Alfa Laval has introduced
a larger version of its
AlfaNova 100% stainless
steel plate heat
exchanger for process
duties such as heating,
cooling, evaporating and
condensing where the
pressure, temperature or
hostile nature of the
application prevents use
of a conventional,
gasketted exchanger.
The AlfaNova is
manufactured using AlfaFusion, a
diffusion bonding technology
developed in response to customer
demand for exchangers offering a
combination of compact size,
greater mechanical strength,
increased resistance to
corrosion and higher levels of
hygiene.
The new AlfaNova 400 is of
homogenous, all-stainless steel
construction and can withstand
temperatures as high as 550°C
and pressures to 28Barg. The
device has flanges instead of
threaded connections to make
it more suitable for use in the
