Light, sight and camera
January 1st 2008 A new range of level control
devices is available from Allison
Engineering. The Canty range of
light, sight and camera devices has
been developed to provide users
with a real-time view of conditions
inside process vessels.
The system comprises three
main components. Through a
viewing window on the vessel a
fibre optic light transmits a powerful
light beam up to 90° angle. The
light is small enough to enable
operators to see through the same
viewing window. A hermetically
fused metal to glass window
provides 3in dia viewing width and
withstands temperatures to 1000°C
and pressures to 600Bar. The third
component is an integral Ethernet
or analogue camera mounted to
