Treatment for cooling units
March 1st 2008

Rittal offers specially treated cooling units for use within corrosive environments. External surfaces and internal components are coated to protect them against hostile air-bound substances.

Treatment is available on standard, stainless steel and NEMA 4X units. External sheet metal is coated according to RIQSWIN.013 (standard coating for chemical environmental conditions).

Internal components in contact with contaminated air are coated in 2K-PUR coating. Refrigerant pipe surfaces and soldering joints are coated in sequence and evaporator and condenser coils, including bent tubes, are dip-coated in 2K-PUR.

The coating performs to 100°C and is said to adheres well on the surfaces of copper, steel, aluminium, zinc and chromate.
