Non-metallic pump July 1st 2006 The latest industrial gear pumps from Michael Smith Engineers are said to offer excellent corrosion resistance and optimum reliability due to their simplified design and the use of tough, non-metallic materials for all wetted parts.
Eclipse Pulsafeeder pumps are magnetically driven so there are no mechanical seals with contacting faces. This removes the potential for wear and leakage and eliminates the need for seal flush systems.
The pump housing and gears are made from engineered fluoropolymers ensuring a high level of corrosion resistance, so the units are well suited to applications involving hazardous chemicals and high temperatures. The company says a non-metallic containment can eliminate energy loss and heat rise due to eddy current losses, that can arise in metallic pumps.
The pumps are capable of dryrunning for up to 30min and deliver flows of up to 4.5m/h at pressures to 10 bar. More articles from Michael Smith Engineers Ltd: |
