Softly softly
May 1st 2008

Dold's new IL 9017/300 - 1.5kW and BI 9028.38/900 - 7.5kW, singlephase soft start, soft stop units have been designed to reduce borehole pump starting current and minimise the effects of starting torque and water hammer. Fitment will reduce repairs on broken pipe work and blocked filters, often caused by debris pick up on the pump filters, when excessive pipe work movement takes place when starting and stopping the pump.

These units are suitable for use with 230Vac motors and have adjustable ramp times and start torque settings. Both units have built in bypass contactors for 100% running efficiency and low EMC emissions. They reduce motor starting current by up to 30%.
