Tough work
May 1st 2005

Pump Engineering has helped a company that makes reverse osmosis filtration systems, where flow control required a manually operated high pressure valve, suitable for handling sea water at a pressure of 69bar.

It supplied a Badger SMV300 valve in Duplex 2205 stainless steel with Titanium nitride coated SS Stellite to withstand the aggressive media and high pressure drop.

Pump Engineering has also supplied an automatic valve for a similar applications. This version, a Badger RC250 barstock valve in Duplex SS, included an MC60 electrical actuator with three speed settings that close the valve over a 20sec time span to allow the pressure to drop at a steady rate.

The barstock control valve is available in a range of sizes, with a globe barstock body and can handle pressures to 340bar.
