Tough sensor
July 1st 2008

Designed for areas where small parts are unavoidably in contact with proximity sensors, the new Robust series from ifm electronic comprises inductive proximity sensors with housing completely in stainless steel, including the sensing face.

Sensor and locknuts feature a new, long-lasting anti-spatter coating. This is such that weld spatter bounces off or can be wiped away with a finger.

The company says the efector R series will achieve the stated sensing range reliably. Units can be mounted in accordance with normal standards and practice, i.e.

true flush-mounting and normal spacing between sensors.

The sensors are available in M12, M18 and M30 versions with sensing ranges of 4, 6 and 12mm.
