Handheld imager seeks out the hot spots
January 1st 2009

Athermography solution for the predictive maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems is available from Ideal. The new handheld HeatSeeker thermal imager is less cumbersome to use than many traditional thermal imagers and is designed to meet the stringent standards for performance set by professional electricians, engineers and building inspectors.

"Whether you're troubleshooting an industrial pump or checking air distribution in a duct, you want a thermal imager you can depend on to work quickly and accurately," explains Tony Kumeta, General European Manager of Ideal Industries (UK). "We engineered the HeatSeeker to ensure a precise, highly functional diagnostic tool that was simple to use for detection and post-analysis." HeatSeeker has an Auto Hot/Cold Tracker, that automatically pinpoints hottest and coldest temperatures within a single screen by highlighting both with dual cursors. A quick scan identifies current or potential problems, such as overloaded circuits, inefficient heat transfer, moisture leakage, or fluid distribution for a stuck valve, helping lower maintenance costs.
