November 1st 2007 Available from FLIR Systems, the compact ThermaCAM T-Series infrared camera efficiently integrates visual and thermal imaging. Its performance is said to be that expected from a higher-end camera at a fraction of the price. Frame and chassis are magnesium, resulting in the camera weighing just 880gm. It is designed for single-handed operation with all the camera functions accessible via joystick and buttons. While the business end remains in the hand, the head can be turned through 120° so the best ergonomics for the task can be achieved. Its overlaying facility called Thermal Fusion allows the automatic and seamless transition of images from thermal to visual and vice versa, on the screen, while retaining all measurement functions in both view modes.
