FLIR Systems' latest handheld camera, the ThermaCAM P640, has FLIR's best-ever picture quality thanks to a new detector, lens and software combination.

A flexible interfaces provide connection via composite video, connection, USB, Firewire and irDA. Standard features include sound and colour alarms, automatic picture differential measurement, and automatic hot and cold spot indication.

FLIR manufactures its own lenses, allowing the company to develop and produce dedicated high-powered lenses for this flagship camera. The resultant high-precision germanium lenses have been designed to take full advantage of the high-resolution focal plane array sensor, A full range of lenses is available including 12, 25 45 and a 50- micron microscope lens

These lenses have an integral ultrasonic motor focussing mechanism, enabling the operator to employ either electronic or manual focussing.
