Low energy air cooled chillers
May 1st 2008 Coolmation, the UK distributor for
the Rhoss range of chillers, has
launched the new Micro Powercool
series of industrial low energy air
cooled chillers. The series is
available in cooling
capacities from
15kW to 70kW,
designed to
provide best EER
(Energy Efficiency
Ratio) performance. Comprising
nine chillers, the Rhoss Micro
Powercool series is Eurovent
approved and designed to run on
the efficient, ozone-benign R410a
refrigerant charge.
The three largest units have two
scroll compressors of different
capacity to provide three cooling
capacity steps and further increase
the chillers' efficiency. Coupled
with R410a, a new refrigerant
developed to replace R22, the new
range operates at a higher
energy efficiency ratio than
previous chillers. Each chiller
also incorporates special plate
type evaporators designed to
improve energy efficiency,
especially at part loads. Micro
Powercool chillers' scroll
compressors are all housed in
dedicated, sound insulated
compartments so low noise levels
