Into position with the minimum of disruption
November 1st 2004

APalazzani aerial platform from Planet Platforms has been installed at the Newcastle head office of the Sage Group.

The TSJ30 unit was recommended to Sage by the architects behind the purpose-built site as Roger Copestake, partner at idpartnership explains We were looking for a unit that was compact enough to fit through the narrow security access-control point; could be moved into position quickly and quietly, and which caused minimum disruption in terms of time and noise when it was in use.

Following initial contact with Planet Platforms (Northern) we had a detailed discussion with Richard Harland (managing director) who introduced us to the TSJ30, which we felt provided the perfect solution.

We then introduced the unit to Sage, and Planet Platforms took it from there.

Once driven into position, the unit mechanically extends its four support legs to provide a solid base, and its multi-section telescopic boom arm reaches heights to 30m.

The platform, that is employed both internally and externally, provides crews from Sage’s retained contractors Ingeral Services with a safe platform from which to maintain the air conditioning ducts and lighting tracts, as well as cleaning glass and steel work in the upper frame of the building.

The unit folds to a compact size and can be driven through doorways as narrow as 80cm.

A further benefit of the TSJ30 is that is has very low ground pressure, so does not damage the surface on which it sits.

Planet Platforms also supplied operator training and a full supporting maintenance and inspection package.
