Efficient storage systems March 1st 2005 When Melaleuca set up its UK operation, CSE Space Management designed its office accommodation and warehousing.
The task involved specifying structural work, office construction, furnishings, warehouse pallet racking and order picking systems to achieve optimum efficiency.
A key requirement was to provide adequate storage for incoming bulk goods. Hi-lo Premier adjustable pallet racking was specified and installed to provide flexibility and safety in operation.
Once pallet content was split, a second storage system was required for boxes that could be accessed easily by order pickers.
CSE proposed eight bays of carton storage, each with four levels. Two are live storage wheel beds for fast moving products, while two Hi-lo long span shelves are used for slower products or boxed quantity orders. Flowstore’s dynamic live storage helps maximise cubic storage capacity as it eliminates aisles. There is one face for loading and one for order picking. |
