Customised road sweeper gets to 'grits' with cleaning
March 1st 2008 One of Nilfisk-Advance's
RS 1300 road sweepers
has been customised to
meet the needs of a Sodexo
cleaning contract at a luxury car
production plant. The dieselpowered
machine has been
adapted to accommodate a
towable gritter, which can be
fitted to keep the factory's
internal roadways and car parks
safe both for employees and
high value vehicles.
The RS 1300 is also used on a
daily basis by Sodexo for
conventional outdoor sweeping
of the car plant's 64 acre site.
It is equipped with two
standard accessories - a high
pressure cleaner for washing
barriers and signs, and a suction
hose for clearing fallen leaves
and enabling easy access to litter
in trees and landscaped areas.
The gritter attachment has an
adjustable tow arm to suit even
the smallest turning circle, which
suits the RS 1300's rear steering
axle.
The top of the range Nilfisk RS
1300 specified by Sodexo has a
1300L hopper, powerful 74hp
diesel motor and has climbing
