Laser methane detector July 1st 2008 Crowcon Detection Instruments
has extended its agreement with
the technology development arm
of a Japanese gas utility to offer
the new LaserMethane (LMm) mini
methane leak detector.
The compact, lightweight (600g)
detector is a long range instrument
capable of detecting PPM levels of
methane from a distance of up to
100m.
Features include automatic
ranging, colour LCD, 5h battery,
extended temperature range and
IP54, the device is said to use the
next generation of Tuneable Diode
Laser Absorption Spectroscopy.
ATEX approval allows the LMm
to be used in Zone 1 areas for onplant
use as well as to detect
escapes in hard-to-reach or
inaccessible areas such as roof
spaces, pipes crossing rivers or
roads, and fenced enclosures.
This means personnel need not
put themselves at risk by entering
suspected escape areas. More articles from Crowcon Detection Instruments Ltd: |
