Soundproof
January 1st 2007 When UK manufacturer Bott, consolidated its operation into a single facility in Bude, Cornwall, it needed to extend the existing office accommodation. This meant building over a noisy workshop. Turning to Spaceway to find a solution, the company set about finding a way of installing a mezzanine floor that would soundproof the offices from the clamour of the machinery below. The answer came in a new type of double-decked FlooriTall mezzanine from Spaceway which not only soundproofs the area but also provides insulation. The mezzanine is built in three sections with a 50mm layer of polystyrene sandwiched between the two areas of decking. The result is a very economical use of space, which has provided Bott with an additional 154 square metres of soundproofed space. For the new offices. Spaceway installed Komfort Jumbo portioning around the mezzanine floor and fire rated suspended ceilings were installed above and below the mezzanine. Windows were fitted into the outside wall and into the Komfort Jumbo portioning to provide natural light.
