Space-saving
March 1st 2009

Troax's modular steel partitioning system, Sabre, has been used to construct a space-saving storage facility for vehicle parts. The enclosure at BMW Group Plant Swindon has been designed to fit around an intricate layout of production and maintenance equipment already in place at the plant, maximising the use of the available space.

As well as housing complex press lines and sub-assembly facilities, Swindon also manages the logistics of deliveries of MINI components to Plant Oxford. To create sufficient storage for the palletised MINI vehicle parts, Troax's modular, single skin, steel partitioning was used to build a 4000m2 enclosure, which 'snakes' around existing assembly equipment to maximise the use of space on the factory floor.
