November 1st 2005 When Sika-Armorex was asked to carry out a floor surface refurbishment project for a national distribution company, the request was for a tough, slip-resistant floor that could be installed in just 24h.
The solution was provided by Sikafloor Pronto, a three-part, multicomponent system that is based on polymethyl methacrylic (pmma), a superglue technology.
In average temperatures, the floor can be walked on one hour after application and it achieves full cure after 2h. It can be applied even in freezing conditions when a 4h cure can be expected.
The two-part resin/hardener mix is boosted by broadcasting quartz aggregate between coats which creates the slip resistant surface. More articles from Sika Limited: |
