West Yorkshire police are very proud of their Air Support Unit and Sika-Armorex is proud to be playing a part in its efficiency. As well as being home to the MD902 Explorer helicopter and its maintenance facilities, the Air Support Unit hangar has become a popular attraction for clubs and societies. The appearance of the hangar and its 500m2 floor is an important factor. The epoxy floor had become worn and patchy and a surface was specified that would be easy to clean and maintain, offering greater durability, with good slip, abrasion and chemical resistance. Sikafloor 261 Thixo was chosen for the task. It is a two component, solvent-free epoxy resin based system that is applied as a high build textured coating. The resulting floor surface is durable and easy to maintain as well as being attractive in appearance.
