Factory scrap recycled into safety matting
January 1st 2005

One of the latest innovations from UK matting manufacturer, Plastic Extruders, is Flexigrid 2000 safety matting. Described as ‘green’, the black matting is manufactured from 100% recycled factory scrap and is itself recyclable.

It is designed to be multi-tasking, with applications ranging from use as a heavy duty floorcovering to external door entrance matting.

Manufactured with an open grid, the PVC is non-porous and particularly suitable for production processes that generate dirt, grime and spillage of oil, liquids or metal debris.

Benefits claimed include cost savings for users without loss of performance, quality, and the contribution the matting makes to sustainability and ‘green’ issues.

Importantly, the matting’s extra deep etched surface provides a high level of slip resistance and is comfortable underfoot. It is also said to reduce working fatigue.

Due to its flexibility, Flexigrid 2002 will contour over rough or uneven surfaces and can be cut easily and shaped to fit around machines, benches and so on.

It is available in 60 and 91cm widths, in either 1.8m modules or in 5 and 10m long rolls, together with optional aluminium ramped edges.

Samples are available on request.
