Anti-slip coating November 1st 2008 CG Flooring Systems has
refurbished 475m2 of floor
space for the Masons Road
site of Tappex Thread
Inserts in Stratford-upon-
Avon, installing a chemical
resistant, anti-slip coating to
improve operational and
aesthetic requirements.
The existing anti-slip
coating was de-bonding
and the brief was to install a
system similar to that in
other areas of the factory. A
'sandwich' system using
sand blinding of aggregate
between two coats of
industrial strength coating
was chosen in two colours.
The project had to be
completed during a week
long shutdown period.
A lot of cutting oils are
used at the factory and oil
had penetrated the
substrate. Therefore, shotblasting
and burning
followed by encapsulating
the substrate with an epoxy
primer formed the initial
stages. This ensured full decontamination
of the
substrate and the floor was
then ready to receive the
new industrial flooring
system. More articles from CG Flooring Systems Ltd: |
