Unattended operation for 72h
September 1st 2008

Unattended operation for extended periods has been a cost saving enjoyed by boiler operators in mainland Europe for many years.

Babcock Wanson has introduced its BW72H steam boiler control system to the UK which offers users 72 hours fully approved unattended operation and 30 days uninterrupted steaming along with enhanced system monitoring and security.

To ensure safe operation, steam boilers are normally subjected to a series of daily, weekly and monthly level, pressure and safety tests.

These can interfere with production requirements as well as involving site engineering staff in time consuming work. Babcock Wanson's BW72H Control System alleviates these problems with an array of self checking controls and simple 72 hour and monthly interval checks. This system incorporates an Operating Assistance Module (OAM) with user friendly 8" touch screen which provides clear indication of the system operating conditions while also logging working data and regulatory test actions.

In compliance with EN 12953 and approved under the PED, BW72H coupled to the onboard OAM integrates all necessary control loops for the optimum operation of the boiler.
