Major order lights the way November 1st 2006 To meet temporary lighting requirements, A-Plant has geared up with a large order for 100 new VT1 Superlight lighting towers from portable power generation and lighting equipment specialist GenSet. The VT1's 9 metre mast can be erected automatically in less than 30 seconds and carries 4000 watts of metal halide lighting, providing a lit area of 4500m2. The unit's hydraulic single motion erection vastly reduces the amount of strain put onto the winch rope. Usually, on traditional designs the mast is erected in two movements - from the horizontal and then to the vertical, but the mast on the VT1 always stays in the vertical position. The design also makes the VT1 more compact than traditional designs and easier to load and unload from delivery vehicles. The lamps are within the footprint of the unit and so are easy to move around with less risk of damage. More articles from A Plant: |
