Tower of light July 1st 2010 Atlas Copco Compressors' portable
air division has introduced a new
hydraulic mobile lighting tower
designed to increase night work
productivity and to support safe onsite
operation.
Powered by a Perkins water-cooled
diesel engine, the QLT H40 has an
8kW alternator, two 16A 230V power
sockets and provides four
1000W metal halide lamps.
The lighting units are
attached to an eightsection,
fully automated,
hydraulic vertical mast capable
of deployment to 9m. The
alternator operates at 60% of
power to maximise energy
efficiency and to reduce fuel
consumption. Single switches
for each individual lamp allow
for the maximum
combination of light and
power choice.
The 140L fuel tank provides
85h of fuel autonomy for
optimum shift working.
Additionally, the two-wheel
unit offers a number of
safety, environmental
protection and fuel
economy features. More articles from Atlas Copco Ltd: |
