Mobile lift overcomes space restrictions

Birtwistle in Lancashire, a Romadek HH1500 mobile loading dock from Paramount Loading Systems is helping handle pallets of yarn

Like many companies operating from sites without docking facilities, Birtwistle used to struggle with the safe loading of pallets on and off containers and box vans. Dave Bemment, chief engineer, says You would think that a fork truck and hand pallet truck combination would make it easy to offload a vehicle, but the second row of pallets always creates a stumbling block.” Birtwistle’s opted for a mobile lift instead of a fixed system because of space restrictions that also ruled out the use of an access ramp

Bemment says “With the Romadek, we are able to wheel the lift up to the rear of the containers as they come in for deliveries and moves aside in between times

The unit has been fitted with multi-direction wheels and tow hitches to enable a fork truck to tow it between locations.
