Installs cable ties in less than one second

Acomprehensive range of automatic cable tie solutions is available from Panduit for fast harness bundling.

The PAT1M, PAT1.5M and PAT2S systems are for high volume applications such as harness houses for the automotive and white goods markets or packaging to improve productivity.

Using a PAT system, total bundle assembly time is said to be six times faster than manual installations. Each system can apply a tie around the bundle, adjust the bundle to size and secure the tie in less than one second. To further increase productivity, the system features ergonomic, lightweight tool heads to reduce operator fatigue and repetitive strain injuries.

A new Ethernet enabled dispenser and data interface software provide an RJ45 connection to Ethernet networks for advanced production monitoring and performance tracking.

The software collects data from the PAT system and sends email notifications when, for example, routine maintenance is required, thereby reducing production downtime.

The latest addition to the PAT range is the PAT2S system that uses new reel fed nylon cable ties with a high loop tensile strength of 220N. Ties are available in three materials, including heat stabilised nylon, and allow for large bundling applications of up to 51mm in diameter.

New, reel-fed barbed cable ties for the PAT1M and PAT1.5M incorporate an exclusive stainless steel locking barb with a 133N loop tensile strength that exceeds industry standards, making them suitable for applications where cable ties need to fit the exact shape of the bundle.
