The latest thermal imager from Land Instruments International is the competitively priced Land Cyclops PPM+ ER.

The camera gives temperature measurement and thermal imaging, within -20 to 500C.

Additional features include: an on-board digital and PDA for simultaneously viewing and capturing thermal and visual images; a wider field of view that makes it easier to focus on close objects when space is restricted and an LCD that remains clear even outdoors in ambient light.

Specification also includes a focusable lens for a crisp, clear image and four zoom options (2, 4, 8 and 16x). The cost of ownership is low as camcorder batteries are used as a power source and a standard SD memory card is used for saving images.

Image processing is by means of Lands LIPS PPM-specific software that includes a report writing facility.
