Asset management solution September 1st 2004 Datastream Systems (UK) has provided Burlington Resources Inc., one of the worlds largest independent oil and natural gas exploration and production companies, with the asset management solution Datastream 7i. The solution has been implemented at Burlingtons MLN Block 405 project located in the Berkine Basin in Algeria.
Burlington required an asset management database to identify all the equipment needed for the MLN Block 405 project, monitor conditions of this equipment and initiate a planned maintenance schedule to ensure that all the plant assets remained fit for their purpose. The Datastream 7i product also provides Burlington with one integrated system to manage parts inventory control and materials procurement for all spare-parts.
Datastreams technology provided all the elements that Burlington needed to initiate its maintenance schedule and will now be used to establish trends and reports to outline the maintenance department's efficiency and effectiveness, explained Mark Dolphin, Datastreams UK general manager. A Datastream application co-ordinator was always on-site while building the system, who understood Burlingtons needs and business requirements, making Burlingtons implementation an uncomplicated and successful deployment.
