When refurbishing its production and storage facility, Giles Foods wanted an industrial flooring system that would perform well, look good and meet budget criteria. It also had to allow fast track installation.

Specialist flooring contractor, Flo-Dek UK, applied Ardex R 90 P rake and trowel grade heavy duty polyurethane screed.

Available in a range of colours, it withstands the stringent hygiene routines that are commonplace in food production facilities.

The company says the installation process is more efficient than a traditional trowel-applied heavy duty polyurethane screed as it has been specially formulated to provide an easily worked system that can be applied using a pin rake and trowel.

The cured system forms a tough, easily cleaned, pigmented layer from 4 to 9mm thick, resulting in a hard wearing, slip resistant resin flooring system.
