Centralised cleaning

Hygiene and efficiency levels have been boosted at Allied Bakeries around the UK with the aid of a centralised cleaning solution from Nilfisk-Advance. Fixed cleaning systems have been designed and installed at seven sites and similar solutions are being considered for three more bakeries. Each tailor-made system incorporates a fixed suction unit from Nilfisk's heavy-duty I-vac range. This is connected via stainless steel pipework to inlet points in designated areas within the factory.

Operatives plug a hose into the nearest point and switch on. Crumbs and other dry debris created during production and packing are collected and pneumatically transported to a central hopper for disposal.
