Motivation - Leading the way in traffic control and parking solutions
November 1st 2004 For over 17 years Motivation (Traffic Control) Ltd. have been one of the UK's leading traffic barrier manufacturers.
Offering high specification products to the Private and Public Sector they have formed strong bonds with some of the countries largest end users and facilities companies.
Following is a brief look at the automatic and manual products that have forged them an enviable reputation in the marketplace.
Automatic Products
At Motivations' conception back in 1987 it was recognised that there was a gap in the traffic control market for a high quality, high specification barrier to cope with the increased demands of vehicle traffic. A design team was set up to form a family of products to suit these needs and at the head of this was the Tiger (See Main Picture).
Designed primarily for large industrial and commercial premises the Tiger offers amazing durability and reliability with an attention to detail often so lacking in modern manufacturing. The model has remained almost unchanged in since it's invention, which is a testament to the original design specification and many of the originally supplied barriers are still in operation today on hundreds of sites all across the UK.
As with all Motivation's automatic products, the Tiger can be integrated with a wide range of access control items to suit the specific application and incorporated into a complete solution, clearly fulfilling to the customers' vehicular traffic control requirements.
To complement the Tiger in the automatic product range it was decided that a fast acting barrier capable of high repetitions with minimum maintenance was required for applications such as staff or public off-street parking. This requirement lead to the Cheetah barrier being added to the family with open/close cycle times as low as 1.8 seconds, capable of thousands of repetitions a day and manufactured to suit road widths from 2,000mm right up to 10,000mm making it one of the most versatile barriers on the market.
It's compact design, allows the barrier to be installed in the most confined spaces without compromise to its high performance.
Many Cheetah barriers can be found hidden behind walls or buildings, exposing only the boom to control the traffic. As well as controlling traffic entering and exiting car parks, it is just as much at home on production lines providing a safety barrier against potential pitfalls and hazardous areas, an ideal solution for any health and safety issue.
Where security as opposed to traffic control is a priority then our range of sliding and swing gates are recommended. Both available in either automatic of manual form, they present a physical barrier against unauthorised access to a site. With all gates being manufactured to the clients' exact specification, wide ranges of options are available from infill to finish making it possible to blend installations in with existing fence lines of corporate identities.
Obviously when automatic products are incorporated into any entrance or exit point, the most important issue for the user is access. Motivation offer a comprehensive range of access control items to support their range of products from simple solutions including such things as keypads or token acceptors to more complex systems such as AVR (Automatic Vehicle Recognition). With their modular approach, systems can be tailored to clients exact requirements and expanded at a later date if needed giving complete flexibility to the end user. Manual Products
When occasional use of an area is required or where out of hours access is prohibited manual barriers can offer an extremely cost effective solution. Whether they it be the rising Panther barrier or the Puma swing barrier, Motivation can offer the perfect product capable of spanning road widths of up to 14 metres (7 metres with a single span). All barriers are powder coated in either Signal Red or Traffic Yellow with corporate colours available on request. They are also supplied with a lockable crutch post for support in the close position with padlock and keys.
Motivation also offer the Roadrunner height restrictor, completing their traffic control family. This is an ideal solution to limiting the type of vehicle authorised to use your site. All height restrictors are supplied as 'root fix' with a clear access height of 2.1 metres, allowing all private and light commercial vehicles through but restricting access for LGV and HGV's. Should high-sided vehicles occasionally require access, the cross-frame assembly may be unlocked and swung through 90 degrees in either direction. However, should this be a regular occurrence, it is suggested that the optional hold open post be specified which allows the Roadrunner to be locked in it's open position. As with all out other manual products, the Roadrunner is supplied in either Traffic Yellow or Signal Red powder coating with all relevant signage at no extra cost.
A small range of other products are available to complement all the products detailed above, such as static, removable or fold-down posts
